Set up over ten years ago by Jamie Odell (Jimpster) and Tom Roberts, Freerange has slowly but surely blossomed into one of the most consistently brilliant record labels around. One of the few labels that manages to resolutely stick to its musical guns whilst always sounding fresh and completely relevant, Freerange injects deep house with an energy and bounce that takes it about as far away from the ‘dad house’ tag as you could possibly get. Based on this love for quality deep house music, Freerange have been asked to showcase their goods at notorious clubbing hotspot 54 situated on the outskirts of Shoreditch, where this underground venue with play host to Freerange’s finest. Together with running Freerange, Jimpster has built up a reputation as one of the worlds best DJs, being asked to play Fabric (London), Panarama Bar (Berlin), Cocoon (Frankfurt), Pacha (Ibiza) and Back To Basics (Leeds) to name a few. With his old school approach, his knowledge and understanding of true house music there is always excitement and anticipation when Jimpster is on the flyer, we’re counting down the days till he rocks the red lair for this Freerange debut at 54. Backing Jimspter up will be two Freerange boys that are also making quite a stir in the scene, Matt Masters and Pash Ostovar have played alongside greats such as Switch, Hipp-E, Milton Jackson Jimpster, Palmskin, Mike Monday, Nacho Marco, Fish Go Deep, Kirk Degiorgio and Shur-I-Kan and are destined to be following in this Freerange tradition of house music greatness. Foolish Horse are currently signed to 54 Music with their ‘Zulu Mix’ of Sebastian Davidsons ‘Kwango’ which is proving a hit with artists such as Patrice Baumel, Marcus James, Eric Borgo and Danny Ward.
